When my mother told me that she needed to make a prom dress that could stand out from the rest, the idea for my first wearable project was born.

Cinderella’s 2015 live action film was the main source of inspiration for this project. The dress’ appearance was based on the one worn by the protagonist, and the concept of making leds shine according to the wearer’s movements is an attempt to replicate the effect seen in the scene where the fairy godmother transforms Cinderella’s clothes into a ball dress.

Fun fact: I wanted to name this project after Cinderella’s fairy godmother. However, her actual name is never mentioned in the original tale, Disney’s animated film or the 2015 adaptation… So, in the end I named it after the actress who gave her voice in the first Disney film, Verna Felton.
